Four-star recruit Keon Johnson chooses Tennessee over Ohio State

It was down to two, and it appears that Keon Johnson will be staying home.

After releasing the time and location for his decision, Johnson made it too easy to appease his home crowd. He will be attending the University of Tennessee over Ohio State, his final two options.

The 6-foot-5 guard was the No. 1 overall prospect from Tennessee and No. 5 shooting guard in the country.

Heavily recruited from all around the country, the four-star recruit barely missed being a top-30 prospect, ranking No. 31 overall in the Class of 2020.

From Bell Buckle, Tennessee, Johnson went to The Webb School for high school where he’s developed into a stellar four-star recruit, being given a .9877 composite score by 247 Sports.

While Columbus is much further, Bell Buckle and Knoxville are about a three hour horizontal drive. That said, it certainly doesn’t come as a shocker that Johnson wanted to stay close to home and compete for a top SEC school.

Per the Tennessian, Johnson averaged 24.6 points, 8.6 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 3.0 steals a game for Webb a year ago and is set to be a senior this upcoming season.
