At first, the Ohio State Buckeyes made moves on the offensive end, securing Julian Fleming and Paris Johnson Jr., the nation’s top wide receiver and offensive tackle respectively.
Now, they’re looking to load up on the defensive end. With four four-star recruits already locked up for 2020, the Buckeyes may soon be adding a fifth to the list: Kourt Williams.
Kourt Williams II announced on Twitter that the Ohio State Buckeyes are in his Final Five. Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas A&M, and Penn State join the Buckeyes as the top schools on Williams list.
After signing the nation’s fourth-best cornerback Clark Phillips III just a few weeks ago, Williams could follow in his footsteps, potentially helping OSU jump LSU for a top-3 recruiting Class for 2020.
However, Williams’ signing is far from a sure thing. Coming from California, OSU doesn’t have to compete with any in-state schools which seems like a good start. OSU should be the best of the five schools in 2019 and 2020.
That said, the 6-foot-1 outside linebacker would be welcome signing for the Buckeyes. Williams is the 12th ranked OLB, 15th ranked player from California and 169th ranked player nationally, per 247Sports.com.
