Four-star defensive end target Riley Mills commits to Notre Dame

We wrote about this last week and said we’d keep an eye on it. Unfortunately though, what we thought would come to fruition did. Four-star defensive end Riley Mills may have made his way to Columbus on an official visit last weekend — and maybe coach Ryan Day and staff had hopes of turning heads and making an impression — but the 6-5, 275 lb. defensive end out of Lake Forest, Illinois always seemed destined to head to Notre Dame. That’s exactly the decision he made and announced on Twitter Monday.

Ohio State is obviously loaded, and have been on the defensive line over recent years, but getting Mills would have added another piece to the gift that just keeps on giving with the blue-chip defensive-ends making a decision to play for one of the best D-line coaches in the game, Larry Johnson.

Location and heart won out though for Mills, and now the No. 8 rated strong-side defensive lineman and No. 122 overall recruit in the country according to 247Sports will be playing his college ball in the shadows of Touchdown Jesus. We hate when we are right sometimes.
