Four people have been rushed to hospital suffering carbon monoxide poisoning after an "unknown chemical smell" was reported in a block of flats.
The London Fire Brigade was called to reports of the unidentified smell at a terraced house converted into flats in Shepherd's Bush, west London, at 7.42am.
Paramedics treated eight people - including children - at the scene.
Four of the patients were taken to hospital and the LFB confirmed they had suffered carbon monoxide poisoning.
Fire chiefs are investigating to try and find the source.
"You can’t taste, see or smell CO fumes but it can kill in minutes," Merton Borough Fire Brigade Commander Lee Walker told My London.

A London Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: "We were called at 8.02am today (December 11) to reports of an incident at a residential property on Westwick Garden, W14.
"We dispatched an ambulance crew and two medics in response cars to the scene. We also dispatched our hazardous area response team (HART).
"We treated eight people at the scene and took four of the eight to hospital."
Half of the road where the incident occurred is said to be cordoned off.
