An appeal has been launched after four rare bikes worth more than £8,000 in total were stolen from a Gateshead home.
The burglary took place overnight between Tuesday and Wednesday when intruders forced their way into a garage on Sundridge Drive in Wardley.
Four rare road bicycles, worth more than £8,000, were taken by the thieves before they fled the scene.

The break-in was discovered by the family on Wednesday morning and they immediately contacted the police.
An investigation to identify those involved is ongoing and now the investigating officer has warned the thieves the unique bicycles will be easily recognised.
PC Anthony Faircloth, of Northumbria Police, said: “This burglary has had a big impact on the victims who are devastated by the theft of their bicycles.
“These are rare, custom made bicycles and they have been taken from the property just weeks after the family have moved in.
“Each bicycle is distinctive and so will be easily recognisable as the ones stolen from this address.
“They won’t be easy to sell on and we would ask those responsible for stealing them to do the right thing and hand them back to the police.
“We would also ask that anyone else who saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area of Sundridge Drive last night to get in touch with us as it could assist our investigation.”
