Four people rushed to hospital as gardai shut motorway over serious crash

Four people were taken to hospital following a two vehicle collision on that closed an Irish motorway on Tuesday.

The incident happened on the N2 Monaltyduff, Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan, yesterday evening.

The road was temporarily closed as gardai and emergency services were called to the scene of the accident involving a van and a car that occurred just after 9pm.

The drivers of both vehicles - two men in their 40s, and two passengers in the van, aged in their 20s and 30s, were taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital Drogheda to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.
