Four people issued with tickets in Pollok Park following new lockdown rules

Police have issued four people with anti-social behaviour tickets in Pollok Park.

New legislation was introduced by the Scottish Government enforcing a lockdown amid the growing coronavirus pandemic.

With the exception of food shopping, exercise and necessary prescriptions, households have been told they must not go outside.

In a statement on Monday, First Minister Nicola Sturgeon said that people found breaking the new laws would be subject to strict penalties.

She said: "Later this week, emergency legislation will give us powers of enforcement and we will use those powers if that is necessary.

"Within days they will be able to follow that up with enforcement which is likely to take the form of fines."

The Police Scotland Air Support Unit have now confirmed that today four people in Pollok Park were issued with ASB (Anti-social behaviour) tickets.

A tweet by the unit said: "Four persons issued with ASB tickets at Pollok Park, Glasgow this afternoon. Our message is clear: STAY AT HOME."
