
Four people were taken to hospital following a suspected gas leak in Kilburn on Monday afternoon.
The Metropolitan Police were alerted to reports of an incident at the junction of Quex Road and Kilburn High Road at 3:04pm.
A gas leak was consequently discovered in the area with eight people reporting minor injuries. Four of those were taken to hospital by the London Ambulance Service.
The London Ambulance Service spokesperson said in a statement to The Standard: “We were called at 3.23pm yesterday (21 July) to reports of a gas leak in Kilburn High Road, NW6.
“We sent a number of resources to the scene including ambulance crews, paramedics in fast response cars, an advanced paramedic, an incident response officer, and our Hazardous Area Response Team
“We treated eight patients at the scene and took four of them to hospital.”
In a statement to the Kilburn Times, the Met said: “Police were called at 15:04hrs on Monday, 21 July to reports of a gas leak on Quex Road/Kilburn High Road, Kilburn.
“Officers attended and assisted the London Fire Brigade and London Ambulance Service. Seven people reported minor injuries and four were taken to hospital."
The Standard has contacted the London Fire Brigade for a statement on the incident.
It is not clear when the incident was isolated nor when it was declared safe.
