Four people charged after shot fired in alleged Cooma home invasion

Four people have been charged after a shot was fired when a scuffle broke out in an alleged home invasion earlier this year in Cooma.

In a statement, police said about 11.15pm on April 2, a man and woman entered a home on Sharp Street, Cooma, and confronted the occupants - a 47-year-old man and 35-year-old woman.

The unknown man allegedly produced a firearm and threatened the occupants before a scuffle broke out and a shot was fired into the ceiling.

The alleged perpetrators fled the scene in a grey ute before police arrived.

There were no reports of physical injuries.

Monaro Police District officers attended and established a crime scene before detectives started an investigation under Strike Force Davesta.

Following inquiries, a 39-year-old man was arrested at a house in Neeworra Street, Cooma, about 9.10am on August 6.

A subsequent search of the premises located what police alleged was a quantity of illicit drugs.

The man was charged with being an accessory before a specially aggravated enter dwelling with intent using a dangerous weapon.

He was refused bail and will appear at Queanbeyan Local Court on August 9.

Police also arrested a 41-year-old woman on August 6 at a house in Woolalla Street, Cooma. She was charged with concealing a serious indictable offence of another.

The woman was given conditional bail and is scheduled to appear at Cooma Local Court on September 22.

In addition, a 33-year-old Dubbo man was charged with specially aggravated enter dwelling with intent using a dangerous weapon, fire firearm manner likely to injure people/property, stealing a car and driving while disqualified.

A 31-year-old Dubbo woman was charged with specially aggravated enter dwelling with intent using a dangerous weapon and being a passenger in a stolen car.

Both were charged in relation to the same incident and are scheduled to appear at Goulburn Local Court on August 25.
