Four people believed to be involved in attempted burglary at Headfort Golf Club in Kells, Meath

Two men using a stolen car abandoned in Dublin who attempted to carry out an early morning burglary at a popular Golf Club have been arrested.

The alarm at the Headfort Golf Club in Kells, Meath was raised at 5:25am on Monday morning as the duo gained access inside.

Gardai went to the scene and located the men but they believe that two other suspects may have been involved but managed to evade Gardai.

Subsequently a Peugeot Boxer pick-up vehicle was stolen in Kilmainham, Kells and later recovered in Clondalkin, Dublin.

The pair are currently being detained at Kells Garda Station and investigations are ongoing.
