Four people arrested and charged after disturbance on Glasgow street

Four people have been arrested and charged after a number of police vehicles were spotted on a Glasgow street.

Emergency crews raced to Benview Street, in the Maryhill area of the city, at around 9.50pm on Thursday night.

Pictures from the scene show around four police cars and two vans parked on the street after reports of a disturbance.

Officers from Police Scotland have confirmed that a 40-year-old man and two women aged 38 and 41 were charged in connection with the incident.

A 17-year-old girl was also among those charged.

The nature of the disturbance remains unclear.

Sergeant Lorna Watson, of Maryhill Police Office, said: “We received a report of a disturbance at a property on Benview Street, Maryhill, around 9.50pm on Thursday, 9 April, 2020.

"A 40-year-old man, 38-year-old woman and a 41 year-old woman have been charged in connection with the incident. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal and they will appear at court at a later date.

"A 17 year-old girl has also been charged in connection with the incident. A report will be submitted to the Youth Justice Management Unit."
