Four people arrested after fight in Bolton leaves man with serious stab wound

Four people have been arrested after a man was stabbed during a fight in Bolton.

Police were called to Monks Lane in Breightmet at about 6.20pm, to reports of a fight.

A man was stabbed and was seriously hurt, though his condition is not said to be life-threatening.

GMP said three men and a woman have since been arrested on suspicion of section 18 assault.

Officers are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

A GMP spokesman said: "Police were called at around 6.20pm to a report of a fight on Monks Lane in the Breightmet area with one man being left with a serious stab wound.

"Emergency services have attended and taken a man to hospital where his condition is described as serious but not life-threatening.

"Enquiries are ongoing.

"Anyone with information should call 101 quoting 2223 of 13/01/2021. Details can be passed anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
