Four Palace players who could make their first appearance of the season against Spurs

With the transfer window closed, Patrick Vieira can now focus solely on getting his side ready for their next Premier League fixture against Tottenham Hotspur on September 11.

Palace had a busy summer of ins and outs, first overseeing a mass exodus of released players before making seven new additions to the squad during the transfer window.

A number of those signings have already hit the ground running, with Marc Guehi, Conor Gallagher and Joachim Andersen all settling into life in SE25 comfortably.

Others have had to wait their turn to get onto the pitch, and below we've gone through the four players that are most likely to make their first appearance of the season against Spurs.

Michael Olise

Palace spent £8million in securing the transfer of Michael Olise from Reading right at the very start of the window, but a back injury meant he missed pre-season with his new side plus the first four matches of the campaign.

The playmaker has since returned to training at Copers Cope however and can be seen getting to know his teammates on the field as Patrick Vieira puts his side through their paces.

Olise, who will wear the No 7 shirt for Palace this season, might not be ready to go straight into the starting XI against Spurs, but there's a good chance he might feature off the bench instead to make his debut at Selhurst Park.

Odsonne Edouard

Another player that looks set to make their debut on September 11 is deadline day signing Odsonne Edouard, who has arrived at Palace for an initial £14m from Celtic.

The Frenchman has already played 11 times so far this season and scored three goals for the Hoops, so his fitness shouldn't be an issue coming into the Palace team.

Edouard's last appearance for Celtic came on Sunday as he played 68 minutes for the Bhoys in their 1-0 Old Firm loss against Rangers at Ibrox.

Patrick Vieira has rotated the centre forward role at Palace between Christian Benteke and Jean-Phillippe Mateta so far this season, but with Edouard fit and firing there's a strong chance he might start up front for his home debut in front of the Palace faithful.

Luka Milivojević

Club captain Luka Milivojević missed the start of the season due to personal reasons but is now back amongst his teammates training ahead of the next match.

The Serbia international is one of the most senior players in Vieira's dressing room having made 150 Premier League appearances for the Eagles since his arrival in south London back in 2017.

The skipper returned to light training in August but wasn't at full fitness in time for the 2-2 draw against West Ham. Speaking before that game his manager said: “No, he’s not going to be involved. He needs more training is not physically fit to play the game.

"We’re going to use the international break for him to catch up and to be ready for our next home game.”

Will Hughes

Palace's penultimate signing of the window, Will Hughes arrived from Watford for a reported fee of £6million and will provide good competition for places in Vieira's engine room.

The 26-year-old didn't feature for Watford over the summer while his future at Vicarage Road was under question, meaning he missed the visit of the Eagles in the Carabao Cup on August 24.

Since signing for Palace though Hughes has gone straight into training with his new side and looks like he'll be involved in the squad to take on Spurs.
