Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Officer Joshua Eyer, a six-year veteran of the force, was recently recognized as the department's employee of the month for his outstanding work in the community. Thomas Weeks Jr., a 13-year veteran of the U.S. Marshals Service, was remembered for his competence and warm demeanor. Weeks, who had served in the Western District of North Carolina for a decade, was known for his dedication to his job and his readiness to handle any situation that arose.



William Alden Elliott and Sam Poloche, both with fourteen years of service in the North Carolina Department of Adult Correction, were praised for their passion for protecting their communities. Poloche, a loving family man and dedicated officer, was remembered fondly by his loved ones.
These fallen officers made the ultimate sacrifice in service to their state, leaving behind grieving families and colleagues. Their bravery and dedication to duty serve as a reminder of the risks law enforcement officers face daily in their commitment to public safety.
