Keen to impress the neighbours with a brilliant Jack O'Lantern this Halloween?
There are a few places near Edinburgh where you can pick up pumpkins as they come into season.
If you're lucky with the temperamental Scottish weather it could make a fun day out for the family, giving you plenty of pumpkins to transform into spooky ornaments or (if you're hungry enough) a hearty meal.
So here are some of the top places a mere car journey from the capital where you can grab yourself one.
Craigie's Farm, South Queensferry

Near the Forth Bridges, this well-established farm and shop are holding pumpkin-picking sessions daily between 9am and 4pm.
Last year they also gave away free carving kits for each pumpkin bought, and the farm's shop has plenty of Halloween goodies available.
The farm has a play area at the back of the café, so you can have a tea or coffee outdoors while you look after the kids.
As well as pumpkins, you can pick your own apples, cabbage, cauliflower and leeks.
The café also has a special offer of two bowls of pumpkin soup for £6.99.
Narrowboat Farm, Linlithgow

After a successful run last year, this environmentally friendly farm on the banks of the Union Canal is holding an even bigger pumpkin-picking day.
A relatively small and new establishment, its owners only received their farm start-up grant from the Scottish Government in 2017.
Their patch will be open on the weekends of 18/19 and 26/27 October and they will be hosting other spooky activities.
You can find out more here.
Arnprior Farm, Stirlingshire

Describing itself as "Scotland's premiere pumpkin patch", Arnprior Farm is a little more of a journey away in Stirlingshire.
As well as classic orange pumpkins you'll find green, white and stripey ones.
They say: "We have over 7000 pumpkins for you to choose from, just hit the patch and find your perfect pumpkins.
"You’ll find big orange ones, green warty ones, white ones and stripy ones, whatever takes your fancy."
Other events like face painting and chainsaw carving are also happening at the farm.
You'll need to book tickets for a session here.
Cairnie Fruit Farm, Fife

This attraction near Cupar are hosting a scary-looking torchlight maze in their fields.
If you're not up for that they are still running their excellent pumpkin patch, which is now celebratings its 20th year.
The farmers have some sound advice on how to use the plants: "All the pumpkins are great for carving or cooking with and will store for weeks in a cool spot.
"Once carved a pumpkin will last for about 4/5 days, so only carve when you want to display it."
No booking is required and the pumpkin patch opens on October 5.
