VISAKHAPATNAM: Vizag Rural cops arrested four persons and seized drugs from them at SVS resort in Kondakarla Ava in Visakhapatnam district on Monday. Police intensified the investigation to establish links of the accused persons with drug dealers in Goa.
Based on credible information, police carried out a raid at the resort and seized seven pills of MDMA, four small packets of MDMA powder, 100 grams of dry ganja, two four-wheelers and four mobile phones.
The arrested are: Thangeti Bharat, a native of Vizag city, his friends V Nooka Raju, S Durga Prasad from Atchutapuram and Ch Venkatesh.
Police said Bharat was involved in two ganja cases and property offences in Vizag city in the past.
Inspector of Yelamanchili police station, Venkata Ramana, said the prime accused Bharat procured ganja from Vizag Agency and would visit Goa to sell the weed at a higher price and procure MDMA pills and powder.
Police suspect the four came to the resort to sell drugs. A team has been formed to nab suspects from Goa.
