Four more of Liverpool's Champions League heroes to return to training this weekend

Four more of Liverpool's Champions League-winning stars are set to return to Melwood this weekend for pre-season.

Jordan Henderson, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Georginio Wijnaldum and Virgil van Dijk were all granted additional time off after their international commitments post-Madrid but are due to report back for testing on Saturday morning.

The first batch of players began their pre-season training last Saturday when 16 of them reported back for duty.

Over the course of this week they have been joined by Xherdan Shaqiri, Dejan Lovren, Naby Keita, Simon Mignolet and Divock Origi - who has since signed a new long term contract with the Reds.

Liverpool begin the pre-season programme with a friendly against Tranmere Rovers at Prenton Park this evening (7.30pm kick off) and take on Bradford City at Valley Parade on Sunday (3pm kick off) before flying out on the club's summer tour to the United States.
