Four more cases of coronavirus in Scotland brings total to 27

The number of patients who have tested positive for coronavirus in Scotland has risen to 27.

The Scottish Government confirmed the four new cases today, with two more cases in Grampian and two in Lothian.

A total of 2,234 Scottish tests have concluded that 2,207 tests were confirmed negative and 27 tests were positive.

The news comes after we reported how a conference set to take place in Glasgow has been cancelled due to concerns about the virus.

The Diabetes UK Professional Conference had been set to take place from March 18-20 at Glasgow's SEC.

With Diabetes UK saying it was "not a decision we have come to lightly" having to balance the "commitment to delivering a conference... with our deep and genuine concern" of delegates.

Meanwhile, a dentist in Cumbernauld has closed temporarily after a coronavirus case was confirmed at the practice.

The Stewart and Stewart Dental Practice is currently working with NHS Lanarkshire's public health team.

Practice patients who have been in contact with confirmed case are being contacted.
