A garda investigation is underway after a four-month-old baby girl was found alone in a graveyard.
Officers were called to the incident after the youngster was discovered by a member of the public at Rath Cemetery in Tralee, Co Kerry, on Thursday.
A garda spokeswoman said: "Gardaí in Tralee attended an incident at Rath Cemetery on Thursday morning 12 th August, 2021.
"A baby was located in a pram and at this time investigations are ongoing."
The baby is believed to have been part of a large gathering at the cemetery on Wednesday night.
According to the Irish Independent, the group remained in the graveyard until early on Thursday and the child was discovered a few hours later.
It is understood that the baby, who was given the all-clear by medics, has since been returned to her mother.
Gardai are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
