A FOUR-MONTH-OLD has died after the Israeli military blocked urgent medical care at a checkpoint in the West Bank.
Doctors at the Arab Specialised Hospital said Ahmad Marouf Zeid died on Sunday after Israeli forces blocked his transfer to the hospital for more than an hour despite his critical medical condition, the governor of Ramallah and el-Bireh, Laila Ghannam, said.
Ghannam added that Israeli soldiers fired tear gas at Palestinians trying to pass through the checkpoint, near Ramallah, saying it was “a stain on the conscience of humanity”.
It comes after Israeli forces also shot dead a 16-year-old boy at a refugee camp near Ramallah on Sunday, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health.
Two other boys, both aged 14, were wounded in the incident.
Israeli violations of the ceasefire agreement have killed 1066 Palestinians and injured 3445 others as of Sunday, according to Gaza's Health Ministry.
Since the start of Israel's genocide in Gaza on Oct. 8, 2023, Israel has killed more than 73,000 Palestinians and injured more than 173,000, in addition to widespread destruction affecting 90% of civilian infrastructure.
