Four million unit milestone for Queen's Award winning Ideal Heating boiler

One of Hull’s largest manufacturers has brought up a major milestone.

Ideal Heating has assembled the four millionth boiler in its award-winning Logic range at the National Avenue base.

The 1,000-plus team celebrated the landmark figure, and it gave them a chance to look ahead as a £16 million expansion to bring forward the next generation technology continues.

The investment will help ramp up production of air source heat pumps for an ever-growing market.

Shaun Edwards, chief executive, said: “Today’s milestone shows the confidence customers have in our tried and tested products as we continue to grow our business.

“The £16m expansion of our site is focussed around being able to develop our successful existing product lines yet further, as well as giving us the room to add to our range.

“We are a proud local employer and the ability to provide more jobs and apprenticeships in our increased space is an exciting one for the future. It’s great to be able to build on the extraordinary successes we’ve had so far.”

The Logic was first introduced in 2009 by the Groupe Atlantic company.

Since then the flagship Logic+ Combi Boiler has been recognised with a Queen’s Award for Enterprise and has received Good Housekeeping Reader Recommended Status awards.

Founded over 100 years ago, Ideal is a market leader in high-performance heating solutions for both domestic and commercial markets. In addition to their staff in the city, a further 250 are based elsewhere in the UK.

It has also recently revealed plans for a dedicated installer training centre at Bridgehead Business Park and a link up with a college in Derby.
