Four men released by Gardai without charge after alleged sexual assault in south Dublin at weekend

Four men arrested by Gardai in South Dublin at the weekend for an alleged sexual assault have been released without charge.

The alleged sexual assault happened in the Rathmines area in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The four men were arrested in connection with the alleged assault and were detained in three separate stations in the DMR South Region but were subsequently released.

A spokesman for Gardai told Dublin Live: "Gardai are investigating an assault that took place in Rathmines, Dublin 6, in the early hours of this morning, Sunday November 10."

He added: "This is an alleged sexual assault and four males were arrested in relation to this.

"They were detained in three stations in the DMR South region but all four males have been released without charge, pending file to the DPP."
