Two men were seriously injured after a car they were in crashed near to a tram stop following a police pursuit.

Greater Manchester Police confirmed four men were taken to hospital in total.

The driver and a third passenger were said to have suffered minor injuries, police said.

According to reports, the car was travelling at speed at the time of the collision near to the tram stop in Audenshaw, Tameside, at around 11.35pm on Wednesday night.

The A635 Manchester Road in Audenshaw was closed in both directions between Snipe Way and the A662 Droylsden Road as emergency services attended the scene.

It's understood those involved were cut out of the wreckage by firefighters and taken to hospital.
