Police in Warrington are investigating a home invasion burglary that led to one man being hospitalised.

Approximately four men forced their way into a house on Steers Close in Latchford yesterday (January 10) at around 7.25pm armed with knives and screwdrivers.

Once inside the men, described as wearing dark colour clothing, attacked two people inside.

One of the victim's sustained an injury to his head that required hospital treatment.

A quantity of jewellery was then stolen before the men got into a car and drove away from the address.

Police have now appealed to the public for information that could assist with their investigation.

Detective Sergeant Tom Hall, from Warrington’s proactive team, said: “The investigation is ongoing with numerous enquiries underway to help find those who are responsible.

“While we continue with house-to-house and reviewing CCTV I am also appealing to residents in the area to come forward with information.

“I would also encourage people to check their own CCTV or dash cam footage to see if it features anything that could assist with the investigation.”
