Four men arrested after Gardai seize €3.9 million worth of cannabis in Laois searches

Four men have been arrested after gardai found a huge haul of cannabis in Co. Laois on Wednesday.

Nearly €4 million worth of cannabis was seized after Gardai carried out a search of a vehicle in the in the Raheen area at around 9.15am.

Four men were arrested on the scene as gardai hauled away the cannabis herb and suspected cannabis products.

Two men in their 30s are currently being detained at Portlaoise Garda Station while two men in their 40s are currently being detained at Tullamore Garda Station.

All four men are being held under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.

Gardai say investigations are ongoing.
