Four male teenagers arrested on suspicion of the rape of Dublin teen in Courtown, Wexford

Four male teenagers have been arrested on suspicion of the rape of a Dublin teen in Wexford in July.

The alleged attack happened along the busy walkway near Courtown Harbour in Gorey on Sunday, July 28 at 12.15am.

Three teen girls who are all from Dublin were allegedly set upon and sexually assaulted with one also allegedly raped in the Burrow area just off the beach.

Gardai investigating the serious assault have arrested four males, one adult and three juveniles on suspicion of rape.

They are currently being detained in garda stations in the South East under section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1994.

The spot is popular among locals and tourists who fill the area in their droves during the summer months.

Gardai carried out forensic examination of the area on the Sunday morning and also sought CCTV footage of the entrances to the walkway at the time.

Gardai are continuing to appeal to anyone who may have been in the Burrow area around the time of the attack to contact Gardaí in Gorey on 053 943 0690 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
