Four male teenagers arrested on suspicion of the rape of Dublin teen in Courtown, Wexford have been released

All four male teenagers who were arrested in relation to the alleged rape of a Dublin teenager in Courtown, Wexford in the summer have been released.

The alleged attack happened along the busy walkway near Courtown Harbour in Gorey on Sunday, July 28 at 12.15am.

Three teen girls who are all from Dublin were allegedly set upon and sexually assaulted with one also allegedly raped in the Burrow area just off the beach.

Three juveniles and one adult were arrested on Thursday by investigating gardai but have been released without charge with files currently being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

The tourist site is popular among locals and visitors who fill the area in their droves during the summer months.

Gardai carried out forensic examination of the area on the Sunday morning and also sought CCTV footage of the entrances to the walkway at the time.

Gardai are continuing to appeal to anyone who may have been in the Burrow area around the time of the attack to contact Gardaí in Gorey on 053 943 0690 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
