A gunman who fired a lone shot in a Hyson Green street at a rival gang member has been sent to youth custody for seven years and two months.
Ravel McClean had directed co-accused Sarah Burgess, 28, of George Street, Mansfield, in her white Audi A1 to Oldknow Street, a residential area bordering a small inner Nottingham city playground.
As youngsters played on a warm summer's evening on August 21 last year, McClean and passenger Savannah McDevitt, 20, of Markham Crescent, Sherwood, were "undoubtedly looking for someone", said Judge James Sampson, as he sentenced them this afternoon (Friday, April 5).
"Almost certainly someone from a rival gang against whom a grudge was held," added the judge.
McClean got out of the car, covered his face with a mask and fired the shot in the direction of the target - a man whose identity is not known and who is believed not to have been injured.
Later, McClean left a bag at the home of co-accused Nathan Winfield, 27, of Elgar Gardens, St Ann's, which the judge said he was sure contained the single-barrelled shotgun used in the shooting.
McClean then stole number plates from an Audi A1 similar to Burgess's car.
The gun was later moved in a vacuum cleaner box to the home of Mary Turton, 36, a mother-of-five, of Sargent Gardens, St Ann's. Two holdalls were inside containing two shotguns and cartridges. Police recovered these.
Turton pleaded guilty to possessing a prohibited weapon and received two-and-a-half years in prison. And she got ten months concurrently for possessing the second shotgun.

McClean and McDevitt, of Markham Crescent, Sherwood, both admitted possessing a shotgun with intent to cause fear of violence.
McClean, of Pearmain Drive, St Ann's, was given the seven years and two months in custody, and two years and ten months on extended licence. He was given a concurrent sentence of three months for theft.
