Four killed, one hurt in pickup truck collision

NAKHON RATCHASIMA: Four people were killed and one seriously injured when two pickup trucks collided head-on in Non Sung district of this northeastern province early Sunday, police said.

The collision, which took place on Non Sung-Kham Sakae Saeng road, involved a Nissan pickup truck with four people on board and a Toyota pickup truck with only the driver.

Witnesses told police the two vehicles collided while negotiating a bend at a high speed.

Four people in the Nissan, all of them of Non Sung district, were killed, while the driver of the other vehicle was seriously wounded. The injured was rushed to Non Sung Hospital by volunteers from Hook 31 rescue unit. The two trucks were badly damaged.

Police were investigating the accident.
