Four injured in pickup-lorry clash

NAKHON SI THAMMARAT: A kamnan was seriously injured and three other people were also hurt in a clash between a pickup and a 22-wheel lorry in Thung Yai district early Sunday, police said.

Pol Lt Col Boonruan Pannu, the Thung Yai police chief investigator, the pick-up, driven by Preecha Kwanmuang, 48, the kamnan of tambon Thung Sang of Thung Yai district, collided head-on with a lorry which swerved across the line from the opposite lane on the Thung Yai-LamThap road in tambon Kurae about 30 minutes after midnight.

Mr Preecha was seriously injured. Also wounded were Paisal Sangphet, 41, the lorry driver, his wife Pensri, 42, and their 3-year-old daughter. They were admitted to Thung Yai Hospital.

Police were investigating the cause of the accident.
