Four in a Bed contestants have opening up about the show's gruelling film schedule.
The Channel 4 programme, which is currently on air every tea-time, has been a binge watch favourite with viewers for years now but, while it's only screen for less than half an hour a time, the filming goes on way longer than that.
Last week, Four in a Bed came to its most dramatic conclusion yet when the one set of owners were branded the show's 'biggest ever cheats' by irate viewers and Trip Advisor reviews have been suspended on their guest house after a barrage of negative comments.
A Ashington hotel - The Portland - was at the centre of the drama last week and there is keen North East interest in this week's episodes too with The Victoria Inn in Witton-le-Wear among the B&B's vying for the winners' plaque.
And staff from both have revealed just how tough the filming schedule is for Four in a Bed. Addressing their waitress Katrin Keech being left in tears on the show, The Portland posted: "Dearest Katrin. We would like to say a huge thank you, for the enormous effort dedication and loyalty to us here at The Portland.
"Your task we asked of you made more difficult after losing Gary mid show. Most people won’t realise how difficult it was filming up to fifteen hours a day for two weeks."
And, posting a picture of themselves alongside their rivals after filming wrapped, The Victoria Inn's owners Carolynn and George Hall took to Facebook to reveal just how long it took to film the final episode, which involves the owners finding out much their competitors' thought their accommodation was worth in a round the table conversation.
They wrote: "Started filming at 7.30am and finished at 7.30pm ! All for an edited 20 minute programme."
