FOUR Hunter schools have closed on Friday, ending the first week entirely back in classrooms with the highest number of COVID-19 disruptions so far.
Every day this week has been dogged by a school forced to close its doors due to the pandemic.
Elermore Vale Public School, Grahamstown Public School, Hamilton South Public School and Great Lakes College Forster Campus will be closed on Friday after a COVID-19 exposure in the school community.
It is unclear if the cases developed in staff, students or parents.
The schools are generally closed for 24 hours to allow deep cleaning and contact tracing to proceed.
"NSW Health has requested anyone who has been unwell or if you develop any symptoms such as a fever, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, runny nose, loss of smell/taste, muscle/joint pains, diarrhoea, nausea/vomiting or extreme tiredness to be tested at one of the COVID-19 testing clinics," the Department of Education said.
Staff and students can return to Jewells Public School, Maitland East Public School and Francis Greenway High School at Beresfield on Friday, a day after they were closed.
