Four homes get the go-ahead at Notts village farm site as planning granted

Conversion of a number of neglected buildings on a North Nottinghamshire village farm are on track to be developed as planning permission was granted to bring four new properties to Trowell.

Field House Farm on Cossall Road is currently home to a farm house and a range of traditional, derelict agricultural buildings and stables.

Regeneration plans, submitted by property development and investment group Strawsons Property, were approved last month by Broxtowe Borough Council.  The firm now plans to create three, three-bedroom homes and one two-bedroom property, as well as visitor car parking and garages.

The developer says that the existing buildings will be converted into residential properties that "will reflect the traditional agricultural character of the area".  Only one building will require a small extension.

Haydn Short of Strawsons Property said: "Field House Farm presents an opportunity to bring back into use redundant agricultural buildings of merit which is an intrinsically sustainable method of boosting dwelling numbers and is in line with both local and national planning policy.

"It is a beautiful location, and the plans which have been approved are designed to ensure that the surroundings are further complemented by the new development which reflects a notable footprint reduction on the current offering.

"Due to its Green Belt status new developments in the area are not common, and given that the village is within easy reach of both Nottingham and Derby we anticipate that interest will be very high once brought to market."
