Four held for thrashing 'child-lifter'

LUCKNOW: A day after a 55-year-old beggar was tied to a pole and beaten up by a mob suspecting him to be a child-lifter, four men were arrested by Saadatganj police on Friday.

The accused were identified as Sarik, 39, Gulrez, 48, Osama, 24, and Mushir, 18.

Police said Gulrez had first spotted the victim Haricharan near Chaupatiya and asked him why he was loitering in the area.

They said Gulrez suspected him to be a child-lifter and he was the first one to thrash Haricharan . TNN
