Four first team Barcelona players will leave club on Monday as part of summer overhaul

Barcelona will part company with four first team players on Monday as Ernesto Valverde's summer overhaul shows no signs of slowing down.

The Nou Camp giants have already sold Jasper Cillessen and Andre Gomes in this window, with the former signing for Valencia and latter joining Everton.

And on July 1 four more players will follow suit.

The players leaving Barcelona are: Thomas Vermaelen, Jeison Murillo, Kevin-Prince Boateng and Douglas Pereira.

Former Arsenal defender Vermaelen is out of contract on Monday, and Barcelona have decided not to offer him a new deal, meaning he will walk away on a free.

Murillo and Boateng on the other hand were both on loan at Barcelona, and they will return to their parent clubs.

Pereira, who was on loan away from Barcelona last season, is also out of contract and will be allowed to leave the club on a free.

Valverde is keen to trim the dead wood this summer and add quality to his ranks.

Barcelona have already signed Frenkie de Jong and Neto and have been linked to a whole host of other quality players.

Among these are Ajax wonderkid Matthijs de Ligt and Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann.
