Four fire brigades called and woman hospitalised after Limerick workplace incident

A woman was hospitalised after a workplace accident in Limerick on Tuesday

The incident happened at Stryker Orthopaedics in Raheen.

Limerick Fire and Rescue Service dispatched four appliances to the scene.

The woman has since been released from hospital without serious injury.

A Stryker spokesperson told the Irish Mirror: "Early afternoon today we were made aware of an incident at our Limerick facility that impacted one employee.

"She was sent to the hospital for observation, but has been released and has returned to our facility.

"We’re committed to a safe and healthy work environment for our employees.

"We’re currently conducting an investigation into the cause of the incident."

Separately, the Health and Safety Authority (HSA) said they are aware of the incident.

A HSA spokesman told the Limerick Leader: "We have made appropriate enquiries."

The HSA have been contacted by the Irish Mirror.
