Four dead after car and ute collide in Vic

Four people have been killed after a car and ute collided in Victoria's northeast.

Emergency services were called to the crash at Pine Lodge, near Shepparton, about 4.45pm on Wednesday.

The two vehicles collided at Pine Lodge North Road, with the car ending up in a nearby paddock.

Four passengers inside the vehicle died at the scene, while the driver was airlifted to hospital in a serious condition.

The driver of the ute was not seriously injured and stopped to help.

The cause of the collision is yet to be determined, with detectives on their way to the scene.
