Storm Ellen due after four days of Met Office weather warnings but Liverpool misses out

The Met Office has issued a four-day weather warning for the UK, predicting heavy rain and strong winds.

But Liverpool has completely missed the yellow alert, with only light rain and clouds forecast.

Parts of the UK are bracing for another wash out after Storm Ciara and Dennis.

The next storm will be called Storm Ellen, Devon Live reports.

Weather experts say that the heavy rain will begin on Wednesday and may lead to some flooding and travel disruption.

This will continue until Saturday, February 22 where persistent rain will batter regions in the north.

Strong winds are also expected on Friday in the north-east of England, with travel disruption likely as a result.

But although areas of the North West are affected, Liverpool is completely clear of any weather warnings over the following week.

Today (February 19) and tomorrow, will see a mixture of light and heavy rain.

However, on Friday, locals will see cloud roll-in as temperatures reach 10°C.

Sunday could also see some sunny intervals appear at around 3pm following a short shower.
