Four cottages that look inspired by Christmas film The Holiday

It’s one of the best-loved Christmas films of recent years, boasting a stellar Hollywood cast and a host of beautifully quintessential British properties.

So Rightmove has rounded up four stunning homes that look inspired by 2006 flick The Holiday.

Unfortunately, Rosehill Cottage doesn’t exist in real life, but these lookalike properties – complete with their quaint garden paths and countryside views – definitely fit the bill.

The Red Cottage

If a sequel to The Holiday is ever made, the production team will need to look no further for a classic English cottage to film in than this gorgeous, Grade II-listed period property.

Tucked away in the picturesque Hampshire village of Braishfield, this four-bedroom home boasts glimpses of idyllic countryside, which would look magnificent under a blanket of snow.

Inside, the cottage has impressive exposed beams, slatted latch doors and feature fireplaces, which are elegant reminders of the cottage's rich heritage.

This property is listed for sale with Charles Powell Estate Agency.

Rock Cottage

This stone-built Cornish cottage is as close to the fictional Rosehill Cottage as is reasonably possible; with picture-perfect windows and a colourful front door like its cinematic equivalent.

This fantastically charming home, on the market for just £280,000, is stood in a suitably romantic position adjacent to the scenic River Tiddy and is bursting with character.

The exposed beams and attractive slate floor, combined with an Esse stove and a Belfast sink, make this three-bedroom home feel like the country dream of Iris Simpkins.

This property is listed for sale with Strutt & Parker.

Maytree Cottage

Nestled in a peaceful rural setting in a glorious South Oxfordshire hamlet, it’s easy to imagine Cameron Diaz and co filming Christmas-inspired scenes at this cosy countryside home.

This historic stone cottage, believed to date back to the early 18 Century, is undeniably quintessentially British and boasts many character features such as an inglenook open fireplace and stunning décor.

With a romantic garden and cosy drawing room to boot, Maytree Cottage is the ideal place to relax with a snowball and some home baked mince pies over the festive period.

This property is listed for sale with Morgan & Associates.

Sweepstakes Farmhouse

Found in the Garden of England in Kent, this stunning farmhouse epitomises exactly why so many people are so fond of the quintessentially British countryside retreat.

The impressive brick-built, six-bedroom home has undoubted kerb appeal, with its quaint garden path and tiled roof reminiscent of what we see on the silver screen in The Holiday.

Inside, the galleried landing evokes a sense of status, and there is plenty of room for a cosy reading nook, whilst outside, the pristine lawns are lined with an array of beautiful mature trees.

This property is listed for sale with Strutt & Parker.
