Four bikers have been stabbed at Knutsford Services on the M6

Four bikers have been stabbed at Knutsford Services. 

The M6 northbound was closed for some time between junctions 18 and 19 following the incident, but has since reopened. 

Four men have been taken to hospital by ambulance and air ambulance.

Their injuries are not thought to be life threatening, reports Cheshire Live. 

Police were called shortly after 2pm following reports of a 'disturbance' at the service station, and will remain in the area for the time being.

A statement released by Cheshire Constabulary reads: "At 2.02pm on Saturday 8 June police received reports of four men on motorbikes having received stab wounds following a disturbance at Knutsford services on the M6.

"Four men have been taken to hospital by ambulance and air ambulance with injuries not believed to be life threatening.

"Officers will be patrolling Knutsford services to provide reassurance.

"A closure was put in place between junction 19 to junction 20 on the M6 northbound but this has now been lifted."

The road closure was lifted shortly before 5pm, but there are still long  tailbacks and drivers are being warned of delays of up to an hour.
