Four arrests are made in connection with death of West Lothian man Blair Gault last year

Four people have been arrested in connection with the death of Blair Gault, who was found dead on a footpath in Livingston in November last year.

Blair was discovered on a footpath between Buchanan Crescent and Fintry Avenue in Livingston after emergency crews were alerted to a man reportedly injured in the area.

Police have now confirmed that two men, aged 51 and 33, and two women, 52 and 54, have been arrested in connection with the incident.

A statement said: “Following a police operation this morning, two men, aged 51 and 33 and two women, aged 52 and 54, have been arrested in connection with the death of Blair Gault.

“Enquiries are ongoing.”

Officers had launched a murder inquiry, saying Blair had been “violently attacked”.

Afterwards locals reported a significant police presence in the area as the killing was investigated and officers carried out door-to-door inquiries and gathered CCTV footage.

Detectives made further appeals for information to find out what happened and “give the family the answers they seek”.
