A veteran of Birmingham's property industry has announced his retirement.
Barry Allen founded the city's office of global property agency Savills in 1998 and also led its development team.
He will not sever ties completely with the firm as he is staying on in consultancy role until early next year.
Mr Allen began his career in the city in 1980 and was head of Savills in Birmingham for almost 20 years, overseeing its growth from the original team of four into one of the agency's largest offices outside of London.
He handed over the day-to-day running of the Birmingham office to incumbent Simon Farrant in 2017.
In the development sector, Mr Allen has built a 20-strong cross-sector team in the Midlands.
He said: "It has been a privilege to have played a part in the dynamic growth of Savills in Birmingham since four of us started it in 1998.
"It has been a brilliant company to work for and I hope I have played my part in both its current status and providing a platform for its future success.
"I have been fortunate to work with some wonderful colleagues, with many great clients and on many exciting and significant projects over the years.
"It is now time for the next generation to take the business to the next level but I am looking forward to maintaining links and support on some key jobs."

"He has left a positive legacy and many clients showing a tremendous loyalty to the firm and we wish him the very best for his retirement."
