Foundation of Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes donates $100K to provide meals, household items to families in need

The star players of the Kansas City Chiefs continue to do good in the community amidst panic and tensions over the COVID-19 pandemic.

First, Tyreek Hill donated 6,000 meals to the Harvesters Community Food Network in Kansas City. The food bank helps provide meals across 26 counties spanning Kansas and Missouri. Hill took to Twitter and challenged his teammates to do the same.

Travis Kelce took Hill up on that challenge, donating 12,000 meals to Harvesters. Now, Patrick Mahomes has joined in to help the Kansas City community. In addition to donating 15,000 meals for Harvesters, the 15 and the Mahomies foundation is committing $100K in aid to Kansas City Public School lunch programs and local organizations that provide household items to those in need.

Check it out:

“To help ease anxiety and tension during these uncertain times, the 15 and The Mahomies Foundation is committing $100,000 to Kansas City Public Lunch programs and local organizations that provide meals and household goods to families in need,” the foundation announced on Twitter. “15 and The Mahomies sends its prayers to all impacted by the coronavirus pandemic and looks forward to brighter days as this too shall pass.”

It’s amazing to see the players from the Chiefs come together and support the people of Kansas City during their darkest hour. During times of trial and uncertainty, supporting these types of organizations via donation makes a world of difference. It ensures that the growing number of people in need of resources like food, water, and household items has a steady supply available to them. This donation will surely help as the citizens of Kansas City continue to deal with the spread of the coronavirus.
