Forza fans have something to be excited about. Head of Xbox Game Studios Matt Booty just confirmed that Forza Horizon 6 will appear on Xbox Developer Direct in January 2026. Apart from a trailer, Microsoft has been really quiet about Forza Horizon 6. All we know is that it’s set to release in early 2026, and the game is taking place in Japan.
A lot of fans expected something about the game at The Game Awards. It’s one of the biggest events of the year, so it made sense that there would be another trailer or news about the game. But there wasn’t, which disappointed the fans. However, with the recent confirmation that Forza Horizon 6 will appear at the next Developer Direct, fans are excited for the game again.
Apparently, Xbox Game Studios is cooking something for next year. Speaking to Variety, Matt Booty mentioned that “We’ve got a lot of stuff that we’re shipping” in 2026.
Along with Forza Horizon 6, Booty also confirmed that the new Fable will make an appearance at the event.
There Is A Lot More Coming Than Just Forza Horizon 6

2026 is a big year for Xbox Game Studios and all the other studios under its umbrella. It’s going to be the 25th anniversary of Xbox, so they are planning a lot of stuff. Booty mentioned while speaking to Variety:
We’re coming up on franchises of ours that have got these decade-level anniversaries. It’s the 40th anniversary of Bethesda, Blizzard’s 35, and ‘Diablo’ shipped 30 years ago. We’ve announced things like the ‘Halo Campaign Evolved’ collection that we’ve got coming, and we’ve got a lot of other things that we’ll talk about soon, that ship next year. So it’s going to be a real banner year for the brand and a banner year for some of our biggest franchises to show up across the industry.
Apart from Forza Horizon 6, it’s going to be a great year for Xbox fans. We will have to wait till the event to know for sure what Xbox has in store for us in 2026. But, until then, at least we know we will have more information about Forza Horizon 6.
