After months of waiting, we finally have the gameplay trailer for Forza Horizon 6, and it looks quite promising. The game had been shrouded in mystery since the announcement. The only information we had was that the game was set in Japan, and the release window was Early 2026. Of course, with a game as big as this, there were a lot of leaks. Even the cover for the game leaked a few hours before the official reveal.
Forza Horizon 6: What To Expect

Forza Horizon 6 is officially releasing on May 19th, 2026, on PC, Xbox Series X|S, with the PS5 version coming late 2026. You can get Early Access if you pre-order the Premium edition. With that covered, let’s get into what’s coming in this new installment.
Forza Horizon 6 takes the Horizon Festival to Japan, a country known for it’s deep rooted car culture. It’s the biggest open-world map in Forza’s history. From rural areas to urban highways, there is a lot to explore. There are over 550 real-life cars to choose from. From JDM classics, fast hypercars, classic muscle, to even unreleased cars like the Tokyo GR GT featured on the cover.
Customizability is a big feature of the new game. You can build fully custom garages and take your friends on a tour. Then there is the Estate, a wide-open land that you can build pretty much anything on. In fact, you can build anywhere on the map. We will have to wait till the game releases to see the full extent of this building feature. But the most exciting feature to come with this game is the CoLab. It’s an extension of EventLab. You can now build tracks and maps together with your friends.
The sound design is also getting a massive upgrade. The cars sound different going through different areas, like tunnels. Even the ambient sounds of nature are amplified and feel more realistic.
In short, Forza Horizon 6 takes everything from the previous game and dials it up a ton, promising an open-world racing experience like none other. For more information, check out the Forza Horizon 6 Gameplay Overview in Xbox Developer’s Direct.
