We seem to have discarded the mission format for the weekly challenges here in Fortnite Chapter 2, Season 3. We’re back to just “weekly challenges”, the same format we had for the vast majority of Chapter 1, before missions were introduced in the final season. Other than that, the idea here is the same: mess around on the map, earn some experience, unlock some skins, repeat. Nothing too earth-shaking here in the first week, but that’s common. Let’s see what’s on offer:
- Damage Loot Sharks at Sweaty Sands: 0/200
- Deal Damage within 10 seconds of landing from the whirlpool at Hydro 16: 0/1
- Enter Catty Corner Vault: 0/1
- Search Gnomes at Homely Hills: 0/3
- Search chests or ammo boxes at Rickety Rig: 0/7
- Land at Misty Meadows and finish top 25: 0/1
- Eliminations at Steamy Stacks: 0/3
There are not quite as many as we’ve had in the past, and they’re all pretty straightforward. I’ve also noticed that some of these location-based challenges are now telgraphed on the battle pass map, so you don’t need to go looking for Homely Hills if you don’t already know where it is, for example.
Even so, we’re here to help with a few of them.
If you’re having trouble finding gnomes at Homely Hills, click here.
If you’re looking for the Catty Corner vault, click here.
The others are all pretty straightforward: if you’re wondering what loot sharks are, you won’t wonder for very long: they’re the big sharks that are now swimming around. And if you’re looking for Rickety Rig, try searching around the wreckage of the old rig.
All in all, an easy set of challenges to start the season off with. I’ve only played a few matches and I’m already at Battle Pass 30 (after starting with the boost), so it seems like we might be in for an accelerated schedule this time around, particularly with these rotating “quick challenges” that are good for a solid XP infusion.
Check back for more as the season unfolds, but I like what I’m seeing so far.
