After a minor patch last week the first Fortnite update of Chapter 3 Season 4 is here, and it’s bringing a lot of cool stuff with it. There are new guns, new opportunities for loot, and a new set of styles of this season’s Battle Pass skins. Plus, a new set of quests are coming for Bytes and the Paradise storyline running through this season. We’ll tell you all the biggest features from this update and how you can get your hands on them in-game.
Cobra DMR - Fortnite
The DMR is a great rapid-fire sniper rifle that was added last season, and now it’s got a new variant that will be replacing the regular DMR for now. We don’t know the exact details for the Cobra DMR yet, but it seems like it’ll have a faster fire rate and longer range, making it a brilliant weapon for a long-range firefight.
Holo-Chests - Fortnite
The keys that were added at the start of this season have been useful for unlocking vaults and getting your hands on loads of loot. Now their usage is expanding with Holo-Chests, which spawn around the map, there are even Exotic variants that require two keys. Unlike regular chests, these will display what’s inside before you open them, so you won’t be wasting your keys on something you don’t want.
Grapple Glove - Fortnite
One of last season’s best new items was the Grapple Glove, this item lets you swing through the world like Spider-Man with ease. It’s back this season, making it perfect to use with the Spider-Gwen suit in the Battle Pass. It’s a rare piece of loot that can spawn anywhere items normally do, so keep an eye out for this special item.
Super Level Styles - Fortnite
If you’re a dedicated Fortnite player, then you may shoot through all of the levels on the Battle Pass quite quickly. If you find yourself claiming all the rewards long before the season’s end at the start of December then you can start working on the Super Level Styles. These take you beyond Level 100 on the Battle Pass and offer new styles for the Battle Pass exclusive skins.
Squad ping wheel improvements - Fortnite
The ping wheel has seen a major improvement with this patch, now allowing you to give more detailed instructions to your teammates and hired NPCs. You can now make pings like “Watch this spot” or “Defend here”, giving you more tactical options.
