'Fortnite' Leak Unveils Retro Icons Like Pac-Man, Sonic, and More Coming This Chapter 7 Season 4

New leaks tied to "Fortnite" have revealed a wave of gaming icons set to arrive when Chapter 7 Season 4 launches later this month.

Dataminers found the character references buried inside the game's latest update, suggesting Epic Games is preparing one of its biggest crossover seasons yet.

'Fortnite' Leak Unveils Retro Icons Coming Soon

Dataminers ShiinaBR and HYPEX uncovered the leaked character IDs inside "Fortnite's" v41.30 encrypted files, which shipped alongside the update that closed out the current season's content.

The findings point toward a season built around what's being called a "Gaming Legends" theme, centered heavily on crossovers with other video game franchises rather than the film or TV tie-ins "Fortnite" has leaned on in past seasons.

HYPEX has cautioned that not every leak from a datamine ends up confirmed, noting that some details could still change, get delayed, or be scrapped entirely before Chapter 7 Season 4 officially launches.

Even so, both leakers say the volume and consistency of the findings across multiple posts give this particular leak more weight than typical speculation.

Sonic the Hedgehog, Pac-Man, and More

According to the datamined files, the confirmed lineup includes Sonic the Hedgehog and his longtime rival Dr. Eggman, both instantly recognizable faces from Sega's decades-old platforming franchise that helped define console gaming throughout the 1990s.

Joker from "Persona 5" is also on the list, representing one of the more stylish and modern additions to the roster from Atlus's acclaimed RPG series.

Also part of the lineup is Mega Man, Capcom's blue robotic hero known for his shape-shifting weapon abilities.

Next up from Capcom is Pac-Man, the yellow icon whose maze-chomping gameplay helped define arcade gaming since his 1980 debut and remains one of the most recognized characters in video game history.

Tetris also appears among the leaked references, though as a puzzle game without a traditional protagonist, it may show up through themed cosmetics or gameplay elements rather than a standalone playable skin.

Some reports have additionally pointed to "Kingdom Hearts" and "Crash Bandicoot" potentially joining the lineup, though those names remain less firmly confirmed compared to the core group.

As of this writing, both HYPEX and ShiiinaBR did not confirm if these crossovers would deliver skins that fans may purchase on the Item Shop or feature a mini-game inside the

'Fortnite' Chapter 7 Season 4 Is Massive

According to HYPEX, Sonic-themed posters are expected to start appearing on the Battle Royale island in the coming weeks, serving as an in-game teaser ahead of the season's official reveal.

ShiinaBR also reported that these teaser posters tie into an upcoming story moment called "Unstable," expected to close out the current season before Chapter 7 Season 4 begins.

"Fortnite" is currently in the middle of Chapter 7 Season 3, titled "Runners," which introduced new Sprite mechanics and a "John Wick" crossover earlier this year. That season is set to conclude on August 19, when Chapter 7 Season 4 is expected to take over.

Epic Games has not officially confirmed any of these crossovers, and the full scope of the Gaming Legends season, including which characters get full playable skins versus smaller cosmetic tie-ins, likely won't be clear until Epic's official reveal closer to launch.)(#%p2e
