Fortnite is one of the most popular games around, and now Sony has announced that it’s launching a brand new Fortnite tournament this month.
The tournament, called the Fortnite Celebration Cup, will take place on February 15 and 16, and is eligible to all Fortnite players using PlayStation 4 consoles.
In a blog announcing the tournament, Sony explained: “This Solos competition will take place on Saturday, February 15, and Sunday, February 16, and is open to all eligible Fortnite players on your PlayStation 4 systems.
“During the Celebration Cup, players will have an opportunity to earn in-game items and cash prizes!”
On Day 1 of the tournament, the top 50% of players will have the opportunity to earn a ‘Take Cover’ Spray, the top 25% a ‘Wild Accent’ Pickaxe, and the top 5% a ‘Tango’ Outfit.
Meanwhile, on Day 2, the top performing players on each regional leaderboard will have the change to win a share of a huge $1milllion (£770,000) prize pool.
Sony added: “To participate, players need to make sure their Fortnite account is at level 15 and 2-Factor Authentication is enabled on their Epic account.
“For information on exact timing for your region, drop into Fortnite on your PS4 console and head to the “Compete” tab in-game for details on how and when to play.
“Start practicing today, and we’ll see you on February 15 for the tournament!”
