Christmas is almost upon us.
One can very nearly hear the jingling bells on Santa’s sleigh, the old man’s booming chuckle, the grunts of reindeer under a heavy load, and the mad cackle of elves with their cruel hammers clanging, bent over low workbenches in darkened, snow-covered halls.
Very nearly, but not quite.
Not over the din of gunfire and explosions, at least. It’s Winterfest in Fortnite and that means it’s time for free presents, challenges and rewards whether or not Old Saint Nick drops down your chimney on a midnight raid this Christmas.
Today is Day 6 of the festivities, and if you head into Crackshot’s cabin and sift through the stocking hanging above the fireplace, you’ll find a new challenge: Dance in front of Holiday Trees in Named Locations. You’ll need to dance in front of five. Fortunately, you have eight to choose from.
Here’s where each one is on the map:
- Misty Meadows
- Lazy Lake
- Sweaty Sands
- Slurpy Swamp
- Holly Hedges
- Salty Springs
- Pleasant Park
- Retail Row
As you can see in the top image of this post, the Holiday Trees are rather large and easy to spot—though in this instance I do think it’s appropriate to just say Christmas Trees because while I do think “Happy Holidays” is perfectly fine thing to say, these are specifically Christmas Trees and do not belong to any other holiday.
But I digress. The point is, once you’re in these specific Named Locations you should have no trouble finding the Christmas Trees and then dancing in front of them. Each one is surrounded by decorative presents and several loot chests so they make decent places to land as well.
Simply shake and shimmy in front of five tinseled timbers and you’ll complete the challenge. Tomorrow there will be another one, and tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow until a full 14 have been released. The Winterfest event itself goes until January 7th. Happy tree hunting, young padawans!
